There are many materials from which stools are built. At first wood was used as the basic material. With time the designers started combinations between wood which was used in 80 percent of the stool bar and 20 percent insertion of metal. In time the elements of chrome have become more attractive and wood was replaced in many cases in 100 percent with metal. Also there are bar stools with or without backrest. The latest model one without a backrest is most often encountered in bars because it is very easy to use. The colours vary and you can find stools in the most unusual greens blues or reds colours that enhance the metal work particularly in the night clubs. The material we sit on is also important so again the options are multiple and you may go for for fabric plastic or more expensive for leather according to your personality the colours and the other furniture and décor in your room.
Arms or Armless Back or Backless? Stools that will be used frequently or for long periods of time (dining game rooms commercial bars etc.) should typically include arms AND backs to increase comfort and decrease stress on your back and shoulders. If your horizontal (floor space) is limited you may choose armless. Arms generally add 3 to 6 inches to the overall width of a single bar stool and can add up to 18" in width on just 3 bar stools.
