Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba", commonly referred to as HC, is one of the smallest aquarium plants available to a hobbyist. In fact, it is one of the smallest plants in the world!

It creeps naturally and will cover the bottom of an aquarium, forming a thick carpet over time.

It is generally undemanding and makes an excellent foreground plant, expecially for small or nano tanks, where it will do fine even without CO2 injection. Given CO2 supplementation, growth is accelerated and a lawn of bubbling HC is simply breathtaking.
